A suspect has been captured in the car bombing outside a government building that killed two people and injured 33 in the Turkish city of Adana on Thursday. The car bomb went off around 8 a.m. near the entrance to the governor’s office, sending huge clouds of black smoke into the sky. Minister of European Union Affairs Omer Celik later said the suspected attacker had been taken into custody after police opened fire on the suspect’s vehicle for refusing to stop. The suspect was reportedly injured in the incident but is currently being treated. Initial reports described the bomber as a woman, but authorities have not yet confirmed that or released the attacker’s identity. The bombing is just the latest in a spate of deadly attacks thought to be carried out by either the Islamic State or Kurdish militants. The Incirlik air base right outside Adana is used by American and coalition forces conducting air strikes against the Islamic State in Syria.
