Muammar Gaddafi’s son Saif al-Islam, whose arrest had been reported by both the rebels and the International Criminal Court, walked free Tuesday, appearing before supporters and journalists to announce that his father was still “in control.” “We broke the back of the rebels. It was a trap,” he said. “We are winning.” His freedom called into question rebels’ claims that they control nearly all of Tripoli. According to The Wall Street Journal, the invading rebels have drawn back from much of the city and now only control a sliver of land on the city’s western edge.
