The superintendent of Steubenville, Ohio, was charged Monday with tampering with evidence, obstruction of justice, and falsification in the alleged 2012 rape of a 16-year-old girl. In addition to superintendent Michael McVey, assistant volunteer football coach Michael Belardine has been indicted on charges of allowing underage drinking, obstruction, falsification, and contributing to unruliness. Steubenville elementary school principal Lynnett Gorman has been indicted on a charge of failure to report child abuse, and wrestling coach and teacher Seth Fluharty has also been indicted for failure to report child abuse. These latest charges come just one month after the school’s information officer was charged with tampering with evidence. Two teenage boys have been found “delinquent” in the 2012 alleged rape of the girl from a nearby town at a party.
