Toronto Mayor Refuses to Resign

Saying he "can't do anything else but apologize," Toronto mayor Rob Ford declined to resign his post at a press conference late Tuesday afternoon. "I know I have embarrassed everyone in the city," he said, noting that the earlier admission that he smoked crack cocaine was the most difficult thing he's had to do. He said he will continue doing the job he was elected to do, and voters can decide whether he should stay in office next October. Earlier in the day, Ford admitted to his drug use. “Yes, I have smoked crack cocaine,” he said at a press conference. “I am an addict? No. Have I tried it? Probably in one of my drunken stupors.”
