A woman was arrested this week after allegedly hiding a 2- to 4-year-old child in her carry-on luggage on a flight from Istanbul to Paris. The child was traveling without a ticket, and flight crew only realized she was there when other passengers alerted them. A source at the airport said the woman was a resident of France who was in the process of adopting the girl, who was from Haiti. Air France said employees “requested the presence of the French authorities on the flight's arrival.” After the incident, the child was placed in the care of French officials.
