There’s nothing like an old-school patent war. Apple and Samsung will head to federal court on Tuesday in the latest round in their bitter patent war, as Apple has accused Samsung of stealing vital iPhone features for Android phones. Samsung, meanwhile, insists that Apple’s patents are invalid—and that Apple has copied Samsung technology in the past anyway. “This trial is just about money,” said Stanford University law professor Mark Lemley. “Though several hundreds of millions of dollars is at stake, this isn’t going to make or break either of the companies involved.” Apple and Samsung have been back and forth in court over the years—and more appeals are expected after this particular case, too.
