The first civilian trial involving a terror suspect held at Guantanamo Bay has hit a major setback as a judge rules that a key eyewitness cannot testify in the case. Hussein Abebe was set to testify against Ahmed Khafan Ghailani in Ghailani's trial, but it emerged that Abebe's name was revealed in a CIA interrogation where Ghailani was tortured. Abebe is said to have sold explosives to Ghailani, who is charged with planning the bombings of two American embassies in Africa, which killed 224 people in 1998. The judge's ruling could change what evidence other prosecutors can bring to future trials.
