A Syrian refugee camp was bombed Thursday, killing and injuring dozens. United Nations officials said the airstrike could constitute a war crime. Bashar al-Assad’s government denied that it had launched the attack. Alaa Fatraoui, a journalist who witnessed the destruction, told The Guardian: “There are many martyrs and body parts. I saw with my own eyes nearly 30 dead. It’s a very bloody scene. It’s revenge against civilians. There are absolutely no armed men there, they’re all civilian refugees, homeless people living on the street.” The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said that seven of the victims were likely children.
