This nation is on the verge of a guac-astrophe. Chipotle has warned its investors that it may no longer be willing to pay for avocados if prices rise due to weather "associated with global climate change." The chain of burrito restaurants said it might suspend menu items like guacamole or any of its salsas "rather than paying the increased cost for ingredients." Chipotle uses a whopping average of 97,000 pounds of avocados daily to make the guacamole.
