GOP Plots Health-Care Repeal

Did you think they’d wait around? The House’s incoming Energy and Commerce chairman, Fred Upton (R-MI), said Sunday that his party would vote to repeal Obama’s health-care overhaul before the president’s State of the Union address in late January. “We have 242 Republicans,” Upton said on Fox News Sunday. “There will be a significant number of Democrats, I think, that will join us.” A House repeal would be meaningless without the Senate following suit, but Upton said he thinks the vote will pressure the upper chamber to do so. “But then, after that, we're going to go after this bill piece by piece.”
