Leak: State Dept Hired Criminals

The allegations of misconduct in the State Department are starting to make sense: they're hiring criminals, according to an internal memo obtained by the New York Post. The letter to the State Deputy Inspector General states flawed practices have led to the hiring of agents with sketchy or even criminal backgrounds, conduct that could damage their credibility in court, thereby impairing the agency's ability to prosecute. The State Department is already investigating the way it handles sex crime allegations after a leak earlier this week. It is calling the new memo's findings “unsubstantiated information.”
