Newly Discovered Planet Is a Giant Diamond

Diamond vendors are going to have to get ready for some serious competition. Astronomers have discovered a new planet, glamorously named "55 Cancri e," that is twice the size of Earth and made largely of diamond. The planet orbits a visible star in the Cancer constellation, going around its sun so quickly that a year on Planet Bling lasts only 18 hours. The planet is also incredibly hot, with temperatures reaching 3,900 degrees Fahrenheit. Don't expect any space jewelry any time soon, though: Earth's fancier cousin is about 40 light years away.
