In a comment picked up by live microphones Monday at a meeting with Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, President Obama said he’d be better able to talk with the newly elected Vladimir Putin “after my election.” The remark was made in Seoul, where Obama is attending a nuclear-security summit. Obama told Medvedev that it is important that the Russians give him “space” on missile defense issues, a message Medvedev agreed to relay to Putin. “This is my last election,” Obama said. “After my election I have more flexibility.”
