The rebels are coming: Libya’s anti-government forces are working in tandem with the Western airstrikes and quickly capturing many towns originally thought lost to Muammar Gaddafi’s regime. They quickly swept across Brega, Ras Lanuf, and Ben Jawad, all key oil towns, and have their eye on Sirte, Gaddafi’s hometown. But how difficult will it be to conquer the lion’s own lair? A takeover by the rebels would be a huge blow to the suffering dictator, and he’s expected to push back hard with ground forces, most of whom are based in Sirte. Meanwhile, Tripoli awaits only a scant 300 miles away.
