It may not have been a stress-induced heart attack that killed Kim Jong-il last year, but a fit of rage. It’s now being reported that the former North Korean leader died after being informed of a serious leak at a hydro-electric power plant. The lengthy and faulty state-sponsored project was meant to provide half of Pyongyang with electricity, and put an end to some of the North Korean capital’s power-shortage problems. An anonymous source—who claims to have been present—says that Kim, upon being briefed about the leak, “lambasted officials and ordered them to repair it. He rushed to make an on-site inspection of the facility unable to contain his anger and died suddenly,” the unnamed source said.
