“This year, I will vote to elect Donald Trump as president of the United States,” Adam Walinsky, a former speechwriter for Sen. Robert F. Kennedy, confessed in a Wednesday op-ed for Politico. His rationale for such a stunning admission? “Today’s Democrats have become the Party of War,” he said, noting that “John and Robert Kennedy devoted their greatest commitments and energies to the prevention of war and the preservation of peace. To them that was not an abstract formula but the necessary foundation of human life.” While acknowledging that Trump is “crude” and “vulgar,” Walinsky said that the Republican nominee is the only candidate to have “pointed out how senseless it is to seek confrontation with Russia and China, at the same time that we are trying to suppress the very jihadist movements that they also are attacking.”
