A 100-year-old Chinese restaurant in San Francisco where the customer was always wrong is closing Saturday. The ethnic eatery is being shuttered after the city said it needed extensive remodeling to pass code. The historic restaurant captured Bay Area residents with its wonton soup, but it was waiter Edsel Ford Fung who got the tiny eatery the most press. Newspaper columnist Herb Caen delighted readers with descriptions of the outrageous Fung, who would slam dishes and insult customers. The waiter passed away in 1984.
