Senate Confirms John Brennan

Despite Rand Paul’s best efforts Wednesday night, the Senate on Thursday confirmed John Brennan to take over as CIA chief. Brennan had been set to be approved on Wednesday, until Senator Paul filibustered for 13 hours, wanting to draw attention to the Obama administration’s use of drones. On Thursday Attorney General Eric Holder told Paul in a letter that drones would not be used on U.S. soil, and Paul said he was satisfied with the answer. Paul insisted the filibuster was “worth it” to get that letter from the Obama administration.
