The president of Ecuador declared a state of emergency Saturday after volcano activity was seen 30 miles from the capital. Cotopaxi is classified as one of the world's most dangerous volcanoes and its spewing ashes led to the evacuation of a few hundred people so far. The volcano's last major eruptions occurred in the late 19th century.
