After leading a coup last month and taking over Thailand’s government, military leaders in the country ordered TV regulators to provide free World Cup coverage for the Thai people. The move is part of a “happiness campaign” the leaders have enacted to increase popularity. Other attempts have included free haircuts and concert tickets. Meanwhile, the country is still under a strict curfew, protest leaders are being arrested, and public gatherings have been severely restricted.
