Donald Trump has already raised more than $100 million to fight the 2020 presidential election. The funds give him a massive financial head start over Democratic contenders jockeying to challenge him in 2020. Small-dollar contributions of $200 or less represent nearly 98 percent of the money he collected during the third quarter of the year, campaign officials said. “After 20 months in office with unparalleled results for peace and prosperity in America, President Trump has provided the results he promised,” Lara Trump, Trump’s daughter-in-law and a senior campaign adviser, said in a statement. However, Democrats are surging ahead in the midterm elections funding battle; Democrats have out-raised their Republican opponents in 32 of the closest 45 House races by a total margin of $154 million to $108 million since November 2016, according to an analysis of reports filed Monday with the Federal Election Commission.
