Typhoon Haiyan Hits Philippines

Nearly 750,000 people were forced to evacuate their homes, Friday, as Typhoon Haiyan, likely the strongest tropical cyclone to ever hit land, hit the Philippines. Four people so far have reportedly been killed in the storm and several provinces lost power and communications. Still, officials said the typhoon's rapid pace actually saved the island nation from suffering more damage, as it moved on quickly before it could wreak even worse havoc.
