Jamie Lee Curtis, 67, has revealed that she is now a grandma. The Freaky Friday and Trading Places star told Michelle Obama’s podcast that her 39-year-old daughter, Annie, gave birth to a baby boy in December. While the little one is healthy, his birth was quickly followed by tragedy—his mother’s godparents, Rob and Michele Reiner, were murdered in their Los Angeles home just weeks later, allegedly by their troubled son, Nick. “My beautiful daughter, who loved them as we all did, managed to be able to metabolize that grief and sadness … [and then] brought their son into this world a week later,” Curtis told Michelle Obama and Craig Robinson’s show, IMO. “The truth is that the greatest lessons... the hardest days ever in my life have been being a parent, and now a grandparent.” Curtis has been keeping the news of the birth out of the public eye, but she got her daughter’s green light to tell the IMO podcast. Curtis said Annie asked her to tell the former first lady that “I love her,” and the actress was happy to oblige.
The Bachelorette Australia star Konrad Bien-Stephen has died in Melbourne at the age of 35. “It is with deep sadness that we share the news of the passing of Konrad Bien-Stephen. We ask that you respect the privacy of his family during this incredibly difficult time,” his management wrote in a statement to Variety Australia about his death on Monday. His cause of death has not been released. “No further information will be shared at this stage,” the statement said. The Australian heartthrob appeared on Brooke Blurton’s 2021 season of The Bachelorette Australia, where he finished in fourth place. She confirmed the 35-year-old’s death and honored her ex-boyfriend’s memory. “Konrad was such a kind man and sweet person to everyone. A very caring man who deserved to live a very, very long life. I am so heartbroken that he doesn’t get to do that,” she said on her Instagram story. Bien-Stephen was dating singer Thelma Plum prior to his death.

When I think of powder foundations, my mind immediately defaults to cakey, chalky, and textured finishes—the exact opposite of what most women over 35 are looking for in a complexion product. While they offer unparalleled staying power, traditional powder foundations have a reputation for emphasizing fine lines, clinging to dry patches, and making crepey skin look even more pronounced. But powder formulas have come a long way, and Laura Geller’s bestselling Balance-n-Brighten Baked Color-Correcting Foundation is living proof.
Founded by theatrical makeup artist Laura Geller in 1997, the brand has long been known for its focus on offering inclusive, skincare-infused makeup for mature skin (40+), though it’s developed a loyal following across all age groups. Its baked complexion products are among its most beloved thanks to their silky, cream-like finish. Unlike traditional pressed powders, Laura Geller’s baked formulas start as creams before being transformed into a velvety, demi-matte powder. The result is a lightweight, buildable formula that blurs the appearance of fine lines, texture, and pores without looking flat or overly matte. Instead, the self-adjusting pigments melt into the skin for a natural, second-skin finish and a subtle soft-focus effect.
Laura Geller.
Each formula in the baked collection (including the Baked Balance-n-Brighten Powder Foundation) is handcrafted in Italy using the brand’s proprietary baking technique, in which pigments are baked on terracotta tiles for 24 hours. The process helps ensure the powder feels more like a cream when it hits the skin, minimizing the risk of creasing, caking, or settling into fine lines. Reviewers frequently note how silky it feels on the skin, with buildable coverage that helps conceal dark spots, hyperpigmentation, and redness while softening the look of lines. “Absolutely love this product, nice coverage feels really light on your skin. I’m always getting lovely compliments about my skin when I have used this product,” one 52-year-old reviewer said.

Many also admit they were hesitant to switch from liquid to powder—until they tried it. “I have been using Baked Balance-n-Brighten Correcting Foundation now for almost 3 years, and I will never go back to liquid foundation,” says another five-star reviewer. “I am continually being told how youthful my skin looks, which is fabulous at 65.” If you’re looking for a complexion enhancer that’s compact, mess-free, and capable of delivering natural-looking coverage with a touch of radiance (without caking, creasing, or settling), Laura Geller’s bestseller is well worth adding to your routine.

A 2,500-year-old golden helmet stolen in a brazen heist last year has finally been recovered. The priceless Cotofenesti helmet was swiped in January 2025 from the Drents Museum in the Netherlands by thieves who used firework bombs to gain entrance into the building. The priceless artifact, one of Romania’s most revered national treasures, has now been confirmed recovered at a Thursday press conference in the Dutch city of Assen. Art detective Arthur Brand said the recovery of the 2,500-year-old helmert is the “best news we could have got.” He added: “We were pretty sure it had not been melted down because there were only four days between the robbery and the arrests.” Three people are currently on trial for carrying out the raid at the museum and taking the ancient artifacts. Police are said to have tried to convince the suspects to reveal where they stash the helmet in exchange for a more lenient punishment. The helmet and golden bracelets taken during the raid were featured in an exhibition on the Dacians, a society that lived in the Carpathian Mountains of Romania thousands of years ago, before the Romans conquered them.
Tiger Woods has pulled himself out of contention to captain the next U.S. Ryder Cup team, a decision that comes as the professional golfer says he is taking a step back from the sport after his most recent DUI arrest. Woods, 50, a 15-time major winner, was arrested Friday in Jupiter Island, Florida, after police say his driving caused a crash that overturned his Land Rover. While no injuries were reported, police said Woods appeared sluggish and had bloodshot, glassy eyes, leading them to charge him with driving under the influence. Investigators noted that opioid pain medication was also found in the vehicle. Woods said after the crash that he would be stepping away from golf to focus on treatment—something President Donald Trump has found the time to weigh in on. In a statement on Wednesday, the PGA of America confirmed Woods had informed officials he would not captain the Ryder Cup team in Ireland. “The PGA of America stands in full support of Tiger Woods as he steps away to focus on his health and well-being,” the organization said.

Wild Tiger Woods Footage Shows Moment He’s Arrested for DUI
Tiger Woods seemed caught off guard as he was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence following his latest vehicle crash last week. In police body camera footage released Tuesday, Woods said he was looking at his phone when his Land Rover hit the back of a truck and rolled over. “I looked down from my phone and all of a sudden: boom,” Woods said in the video. He later expressed astonishment that he was being arrested. “I’m being arrested?” Woods asked, to which the police officer responded: “Yes, sir.” The video also shows the officer discovering two white pills Woods had on him, which Woods said were “a Norco,” in reference to a painkiller that contains acetaminophen and hydrocodone. Woods admitted he takes “a few” prescriptions. Law enforcement later confirmed Woods was in possession of hydrocodone at the time of the incident. Woods, 50, was charged with a DUI and failure to submit a DUI test. A few hours after his not guilty plea, Woods said he would be “stepping away for a period of time to seek treatment.”
A Massachusetts man was arrested Wednesday after allegedly threatening President Trump online repeatedly and brandishing a sword during a standoff with federal agents, authorities said. Andrew D. Emerald, 45, of Great Barrington, Massachusetts, faces eight counts of interstate transmission of threatening communications tied to multiple social media posts. Court documents say Emerald repeatedly threatened the president’s life, allegedly making posts in which he described using a sword and tracking Trump to his Florida home. One post read, “I have very good reason to threaten his life and to go after it.” FBI agents arrived at Emerald’s home Wednesday morning and used a battering ram after receiving no response. Emerald emerged holding a long sword, refusing to drop it and warning agents they would have to shoot him, authorities said. After a standoff, he surrendered, and authorities seized six blades, including two long swords. Emerald pleaded not guilty Wednesday and will remain in custody until a hearing Monday. Each charge carries up to five years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

Music producer Sidney “Omen” Brown died because of heart complications, the New York City Medical Examiner’s office has revealed. Brown was found dead in his East Harlem apartment on September 13, 2025. He was 49. The official cause was atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease, according to NBC News. The condition is caused by plaque buildup and can narrow the arteries, making it difficult for blood to flow through. His death was ruled as natural. Brown’s passing came as a shock to family and friends, with his sister Nicole Iris Brown, telling NBC News, “He was holistic and healthy. So we don’t know of him being sick, so this is all pretty sudden.” Brown was found by relatives after his colleagues alerted the family that he did not show up for a DJ shift. The Grammy-winning producer, who worked with music legends including Beyoncé, Ludacris, Lil Wayne, and Drake, was professionally known as “Omen.” Brown was credited in Beyoncé’s 2013 hit “Mine” as a lyricist, composer, and producer for the song. He produced Drake’s track “Shut It Down,” featured in the Canadian rapper’s 2010 debut album “Thank Me Later.” He was also credited as a producer on Ludacris’s song “Tell It Like It Is,” which was included in the artist’s Grammy-winning “Released Therapy” album.
A flight attendant was left seriously injured after a United Airlines flight experienced turbulence while flying over the Pacific Ocean. United Flight 115 was flying from San Francisco International Airport to Papeete, the capital of French Polynesia, on Sunday when the incident occurred. The airline and federal investigators said the plane encountered “moderate turbulence” that resulted in one flight attendant suffering injuries. The extent of the injuries to the crew member is not known. United Airlines said that none of the passengers aboard the flight were injured. There were belived to be a total of 165 people aboard. The Boeing 787-9 plane, identified in a National Transportation Safety Board public docket as N23994, managed to safely continue the rest of its journey. Paramedics also treated the injured crew member once the plane landed. As noted by the San Fransico Chronicle, the Federal Aviation Administration states that flight attendants are more likely to be injured during periods of turbulence because they are often standing or moving through the cabin. The NTSB said they are investigating the incident.

Lyma makes a strong case for laser technology as the next evolution in at-home skin care. Unlike many beauty devices, which use surface-level treatments or controlled skin injury to kickstart collagen and elastin production, the brand’s handheld laser stimulates cellular activity without disrupting the skin barrier, causing inflammation, or triggering scar tissue formation.
Rather than forcing the skin into repair mode, Lyma’s low-level laser technology aims to optimize how skin functions in the first place. According to research cited by the brand, the device may activate a significantly greater number of genes associated with skin health and longevity versus traditional LED devices, suggesting a more comprehensive cellular response. While independent data on at-home devices remains limited, the ongoing laser-versus-LED discourse is gaining traction throughout the beauty and wellness worlds. Lyma’s FDA-cleared “cold” laser has also attracted attention from celebrities such as Sienna Miller, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Martha Stewart, as well as renowned plastic surgeon Dr. Jason Diamond.
Now, the coveted laser devices are earning praise from those outside the aesthetic space. In a recent conversation for Lyma’s Science of Youths series, biohacker and longevity expert Dave Asprey drew a clear distinction between the two technologies. “Lasers have always been more effective than LEDs, but they’re much more expensive. So a lot of companies will use LEDs because they’re cheap,” he said, noting that Lyma’s ability to control depth and delivery makes it a more advanced option. He also raised concerns about popular in-office treatments that rely on controlled injury (e.g., microneedling). “Most of these treatments are going in, creating scar tissue underneath the skin or sometimes in the skin,” Asprey said. “It does make you look better because it can help reduce wrinkles, but it’s not healthy tissue volume.” In other words, while some treatments may deliver short-term results, they can come with trade-offs over time.
Lyma’s approach, by contrast, is designed to support skin health without that same level of trauma. While the device is undoubtedly an investment, it may appeal to those hoping to streamline their routine and lessen dependence on more aggressive (and often more expensive) in-office treatments. In fact, many reviewers say it’s actually saved them money in the long run by cutting back on in-office aesthetic treatments. If you’re ready to move beyond LED, the Lyma Laser Pro delivers a more advanced, non-invasive alternative that’s worth the upgrade.

A 194-year-old tortoise previously feared dead is still living, after a viral hoax duped several of the world’s major news outlets. Jonathan, who hatched roughly three decades before the American Civil War, was thought to have died after an X account claiming to be his veterinarian posted an emotional memorial message. “As his vet for many years, it was an honor to care for him – hand-feeding bananas, watching him bask in the sun and marveling at his quiet wisdom,“ the post reads. ”He leaves behind a legacy of resilience and longevity that inspired millions. Rest easy, old friend. You’ll be missed more than words can say.” This moving tribute fooled the journalists of the BBC, the Daily Mail, and USA Today. All three newsrooms falsely reported the death of the world’s oldest animal. Soon after, the truth spilled out. Not only does the veterinarian caring for Jonathan not use X, but the account posting the news was found to be asking for online “donations” in cryptocurrency. The tortoise himself, who lives on the remote British island of Saint Helena in the southern Atlantic Ocean, was unfazed by the drama, enjoying an 11-hour nap. To dispel all internet conspiracies, Jonathan’s caretakers posted a picture of the tortoise next to an iPad displaying Thursday’s BBC homepage.
Backstreet Boy Brian Littrell appears to have been caught on camera shouting a homophobic slur in an argument. Cell-phone footage shows the 51-year-old musician confronting a man on a Florida beach, who TMZ identified as Kyle Gallagher. The clip, obtained by the Florida Panhandle news station WMBB, bleeps out swear words, but People notes that Littrell appeared to say, “You want to be gay? Want to be a f-----?” TMZ reports that Littrell submitted the video himself in a bid to press criminal charges against Gallagher for battery, but prosecutors said the footage backed up Gallagher’s version of events. An affidavit said that Gallagher “was belligerent and disturbing the peace,” but Walton County Deputy Chief Assistant State Attorney Josh Mitchell declined to press charges because there was a “lack of criminal intent.” The Daily Beast has reached out to Littrell for comment.
