Up to four people are dead, including the suspected gunman, and 14 others injured after a shooting at Fort Hood on Wednesday, according to Rep. Michael McCaul of Texas. McCaul, who is the chariman of the Committee on Homeland Security, gave the casualty figures in a telephone conference with reporters. An internal Justice Department report obtained by the Associated Press said that the shooter died of self-inflicted gunshot wounds. Earlier in the afternoon, President Obama spoke about the situation, saying, "We don’t yet know what happened tonight but obviously that sense of safety has been broken once again. We need to find out exactly what happened." The shooting occurred at approximately 4:25 p.m. Central Time. On November 5, 2009, Maj. Nidal Hasan killed 13 and wounded 30 more at Fort Hood. Last year, he received the death penalty following conviction after a court martial.
