A Massachusetts state investigation into its Department of Children and Families' (DCF) handling of allegations of abuse against the late baby Bella Bond (famously known as "Baby Doe" when her body was found this summer) revealed that the agency closed its case too soon. The scathing report found that DCF closed Bond's file in 2013, two years before her death, even though it contained conflicting information about the mother's ability to parent. The final evaluation of Bond, the state reported, used "cut-and-pasted information from prior years and was inaccurate."
