Imprisoned U.S. Army whistleblower Chelsea Manning has been put on President Obama’s short list for possible commutation, NBC News reported Wednesday. Manning is serving a 35-year sentence, since 2010, for taking classified military and diplomatic files and providing them to WikiLeaks. She attempted suicide twice last year and went on a hunger strike while attempting to get the military to provide gender-reassignment surgery. Obama could decide as early as Wednesday, NBC News reported.
