Nakoula Basseley Nakoula, the producer behind the incendiary film Innocence of Muslims, has been jailed by a federal judge for violating the terms of his probation. Nakoula appeared at the U.S. District Court in Los Angeles late Thursday afternoon. Judge Suzanne H. Segal cited a “lengthy pattern of deception” and lying to probation officers as violations. “The court has a lack of trust in the defendant at this time,” Segal said, adding Nakoula posed “some danger to the community.” The controversial producer has a criminal record that includes a narcotics conviction but officials say he violated his probation from a 2010 check fraud conviction. In another odd twist, Nakoula also told the judge that as of 2002, his real name is Mark Basseley Youseff.
