Herman Cain Takes the Lead

Who knows how long this will last, but according to a Wall Street Journal/NBC News and also Public Policy Polling, the man to beat in the GOP primary is Herman Cain. The Public Policy poll shows the former Godfather’s Pizza CEO surging an astonishing 22 points to capture almost a third of likely primary voters. Mitt Romney is polling at 22 percent. Rick Perry, meanwhile, has fallen to 14 percent, one point less than Newt Gingrich. In the WSJ/NBC poll, 27 percent of Republicans say Cain's their first choice. A Reuters/Ipsos poll also shows a significant surge in Cain’s support, from 7 percent to 19 percent over the last four months, but it gives Romney the lead with 23 percent.
