The Roman Catholic Diocese of Helena, Montana, will file for bankruptcy protection, in anticipation of the settlement of hundreds of claims that clergy sexually abused 362 people over decades and covered it up. While the details are still being finalized, a bankruptcy court would supervise the disbursement of the $15 million to identified victims as well as those who come forward later.
