A “mega-yacht” owned by Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen struck a Cayman Islands coral reef, demolishing about 13,000 square feet of the protected habitat. Divers with the island territory’s department of the environment are investigating the damage caused by the 300-foot Tatoosh’s anchor chain in the marine park. A statement from the agency says 80 percent of the coral in the area was “destroyed.” In 2014, a Carnival cruise ship caused a similar amount of damage near another Cayman reef.
