Official military records contradict multiple claims put forth by Alicia Watkins, the U.S. Air Force veteran who snagged an impromptu “job interview” during a Donald Trump speech at the construction site of his newest hotel. Among the many statements she’s used to garner press attention in the past, Watkins has publicly claimed that she was awarded a Purple Heart, saw combat in Iraq, and had survived the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks on the Pentagon. But as the Air Force Times reports, those three claims alone are directly contradicted by a combination of military records or her own past interviews.
