U.S. Defense Secretary Ash Carter said on Sunday military action was still a possibility if Iran failed to meet the requirements in a landmark deal to curb its nuclear program. Carter told reporters the deal did not "place any limitations" on the U.S. or its allies including Israel before landing in Tel Aviv. The Pentagon chief is expected to meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Moshe Yaalon to allay concerns over the historic agreement. "I'm not going to change anybody's mind in Israel. That's not the purpose of my trip," Carter said. Officials are expected to discuss potential increased U.S. military-related support in the wake of the deal. Israeli leaders have condemned the agreement, arguing that lifting sanctions on the country could increase support for Iranian-backed fighters in Lebanon and Palestine.
