The White House has requested YouTube perform an official review of the controversial anti-Muslim video posted on the site, which was still live Friday afternoon. Many hold the incendiary video—a trailer for an upcoming full-feature film—responsible for the eruption of violence in the Mideast and the death of Ambassador Chris Stevens. In a statement Friday afternoon, White House Press Secretary Jay Carney said the request comes in response to a video that the administration finds “reprehensible and disgusting.” The White House has made it clear that the aim of the review is not to provide “justification for the violence.”
