Attorney Lisa Casey, who is representing Ammon Bundy hopes to contest the authority of the federal government to try and prosecute her client for his militia’s takeover of an Oregon wildlife preserve. Casey will challenge the fact that the federal government actually owns the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge. The U.S. Supreme Court has ruled twice that the land is in fact owned by the federal government though.
