Actress Nicollette Sheridan has sued Marc Cherry, the creator of Desperate Housewives, for assault and battery, gender violence, and wrongful termination, TMZ reported Monday. According to her lawsuit, Sheridan claims Cherry struck her across the head and face while on the set and, after she complained to ABC, fired her. Sheridan is suing for over $20 million due to Cherry "behaving in an extremely abusive and aggressive manner toward the individuals who work on the show." Sheridan also alleges that after co-star Teri Hatcher went behind the creator's back, Cherry said: "I hope Teri Hatcher gets hit by a car and dies." According to Variety's Michael Schneider, an ABC spokesperson said: "We investigated similar claims made by Ms. Sheridan last year and found them to be without merit."
