News Corp. CEO Rupert Murdoch is taking the leap into the world of tablets. After cementing his global presence in newsprint, he is preparing to launch a national newspaper for the United States that will be distributed exclusively as paid content for mobile devices, like tablets and mobile phones. "We'll have young people reading newspapers," Murdoch said. "It's a real game changer in the presentation of news." Murdoch, 79, already owns a national paper in The Wall Street Journal, but his digital publication would be vastly different in tone and content. This one, overseen by New York Post Managing Editor Jesse Angelo, would offer shorter, quicker-to-digest stories designed to be read efficiently on the go. News Corp. has yet to announce a launch date or a subscription fee for the new product.
