Hurricane Danielle lost some of its intensity early Saturday morning and was downgraded to a Category 2 storm, meaning the winds are topping out around 110 miles per hour. Danielle is southeast of Bermuda, but should avoid the island over the next few days on its way toward the eastern seaboard of the U.S. Dangerous swells and riptides are already expected on East Coast shores this weekend, and the storm is not expected to affect the area around the Gulf of Mexico oil spill. The storm is now being followed by the strengthening Tropical Storm Earl, which has maximum sustained winds of 60 miles per hour over the Caribbean.
