More reviews are coming in for David Fincher’s The Social Network and they’re nearly all raves. Two days before the nationwide opening, the movie has even earned praise from some of the pickiest critics, with Salon’s Andrew O’Hehir comparing Zuckerberg to Jay Gatsby, the famous antihero of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby. The Los Angeles Times praises the movie, saying it has the “archetypal movie drama” that leads to success. Most critics, while noting the fictionalization of the story, praise writer Aaron Sorkin’s script, David Fincher’s direction, and the performances by Jesse Eisenberg and Andrew Garfield. There are some who are not so enamored, however: Jeff Jarvis for The Huffington Post says the movie has “ no vision, no strategy, no goals.”
