The Tea Party’s not as rowdy as it may seem: The Washington Post tried to contact every single Tea Party organization in America, and ended up getting through to and surveying 647. It found that 70 percent of the groups had not participated in any political campaigning, and few have endorsed candidates or have money in hand. The most frequently named issue they were concerned about was government spending and size of government—but less than half the groups named it. The Post says social issues barely registered at all.
