Woody Allen’s fans and critics have something to look forward to, as the filmmaker has agreed to participate in a two-part American Masters PBS documentary about his life and work. It’s a rare opening-up for Allen, who generally declines interviews and lifetime achievement awards. The documentary’s producer, Robert Weide, says he began urging Allen to cooperate in 2008. It’s unclear if Allen will discuss his personal controversies, including his marriage to Soon-Yi Previn. The documentary will air Nov. 20 and 21.
