High tides are testing the flood defenses of Thailand's capital Bangkok, as more areas of the city were flooded Sunday and the Chao Phraya river's water levels rose further. Bangkok's governor said the river had reached a record high early on Sunday, but the sandbag walls have held so far. The flooding—the worst in 50 years—is expected to ease after Monday. "Hopefully, the sandbags are quite strong enough," Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra said. "So if the sandbags don't fall over, it should be OK."
