The Syrian government has detained Razan Ghazzawi, a U.S.-born blogger, and charged her trying to incite sectarian strife, spreading false information, and weakening national sentiment—charges that could carry a sentence of 15 years. Ghazzawi had been reporting on human-rights abuses and was arrested Dec. 4 at the border while trying to cross into Jordan for a conference on press freedom. Separately, the Syrian government killed at least 28 people Tuesday, at least two of whom were shot during a funeral procession in the city of Idlib.
