Some bitter news to go with the sensational rescue story of Hannah Anderson: the California teen apparently didn’t know her mother and brother were dead when she was found, the San Diego sheriff said Monday. Anderson, 16, was kidnapped last week by James Lee DiMaggio, a family friend, who held her for six days before she was rescued in Idaho and DiMaggio was killed in a firefight. Police last week found the bodies of Anderson’s mother, Christina, 44, who was killed possibly with a crowbar, and 8-year-old Ethan, after a fire at their home. San Diego County Sheriff Bill Gore said Anderson played no role in their deaths, but he admitted they may never be able to piece together exactly what happened.
