As authorities come closer to charging those identified in a brutal attack on two gay men in Philadelphia, employers are not waiting around. Fran McGlinn, a basketball coach at Archbishop Wood High School, was fired on Wednesday night for his alleged involvement with the attack that left one victim with his jaw wired shut. “He was terminated this evening and will not be permitted to coach in any archdiocesan schools,” a spokesman for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia said late Wednesday. “We expect all those who work with students in our schools to be model appropriate Christian behavior at all times.” The city’s Archbishop Charles Chaput voiced his disapproval of the group’s actions on Thursday stating their actions were “inexcusable and alien to what it means to be a Christian.”
