Two people are dead and 48 injured after a bus crashed while making a sharp turn on an exit ramp from a Delaware highway. The AM USA Express bus hit trouble on the Delaware Route 1 exit ramp near Red Lion around 4:20 p.m. Sunday on its way to New York. “As the bus attempted to negotiate a moderate curve on the ramp, it exited the roadway and overturned onto its roof,” said Sgt. Paul G. Shavack. “The bus continued to slide on its roof traveling down a slight grass embankment, rotating onto its left side where it came to rest.” Shavack also noted that other car accidents have occurred at the teardrop-shaped loop on the same exit ramp in the past. The first casualty was Hua’y Chen, 54, of New York City, who after she was pinned under the bus. The second casualty was Idil Bahsi, 30, of Istanbul, who died of multiple traumatic injuries hours after the accident. Two of the 48 injured are in critical condition.
