Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz said Sen. Bernie Sanders’s response to reports of his supporters threatening Democratic officials in Nevada was “anything but acceptable.” Sanders supporters have allegedly threatened Nevada Democratic Party Chairwoman Roberta Lange with violence in phone calls, emails, and text messages after the state party declared some Sanders delegates ineligible at its convention over the weekend. Sanders initially walked away from a reporter who asked about the incidents, but later issued a statement blasting Lange for overseeing an unfair process. “It’s never OK for violence and intimidation to be the response to that frustration,” Wasserman Schultz said. “That’s what happens with the Trump campaign. We can never resort to the tactics that they engage in.” She went on to accuse Sanders of adding “more fuel to the fire,” rather than apologizing for the actions of his supporters.
