The Baseball Writers’ Association of America awarded Chicago Cubs third baseman Kris Bryant with the National League MVP award Thursday and gave the American League MVP award to Los Angeles Angels center fielder Mike Trout. This season, Trout batted .315 with 29 homers, 100 RBIs, and 30 stolen bases even as the Angels finished fourth in the AL West. Bryant hit .292 with 39 homers and 102 RBIs in just his second year in the majors, which helped lead the Cubs to their historic World Series win.
