Kellyanne Conway: ‘No Need’ for Donald Trump to ‘Mend Fences’ with Media
NOT SORRY
Kellyanne Conway, who served as Donald Trump’s campaign manager and will likely have a role in the White House, told reporters following the president-elect’s Monday off-record meeting with reps from several TV-news outlets that there was “no need to mend fences” with the people he spent his campaign calling “crooked” and “dishonest.” She added of the meeting, “It was very cordial. Very productive. Congenial. But it was also very candid and honest.”
“From my own perspective, it’s great to hit the reset button,” Conway continued. “It was a long, hard-fought campaign. Donald Trump proved that he understood America and now he will be president to all Americans.” She also said Trump would meet with representatives from The New York Times on Tuesday and that the president-elect would be holding a press conference “soon, but he just has action-packed days filled with meetings.”
While Conway described the meeting as "cordial" and "congenial," multiple sources shared a very different characterization with the New York Post. “It was like a fucking firing squad,” one source reported. “The meeting was a total disaster."
