A Denver police officer has been suspended for 20 days after he was accused of having sex with a drunk, mentally challenged woman while on duty. Officer Travis Jackson was suspended not for the sexual misconduct but for other policy violations. Jackson was called to remove the woman from a bar on July 4, 2014. He went to help find her a hotel and reportedly stayed in the room with her for 20 minutes. Afterward, the woman filed a complaint that she had been sexually assaulted. As for why the department chose not to punish Jackson for the alleged sexual incident: “The investigation did not conclusively prove or disprove sexual misconduct occurred,” a spokeswoman said.
