Egypt entered its third straight day of rioting Thursday, as protesters attempted to topple the government of President Hosni Mubarak. At least six have been killed so far, according to a security source. The Interior Ministry said at least 500 have been arrested, but other estimates put the number closer to 1,200. Rioters, inspired by the recent coup in Tunisia, hope to topple the 30-year reign of Mubarak, as widespread unemployment and poverty has swept the younger generation during Mubarak’s rule. Meanwhile, one of Mubarak’s biggest foes, Nobel laureate Mohamed ElBaradei, will soon return to Egypt, a move that is expected to further incite Mubarak’s opposition.
